Great Historical Time Travel Novel

“The author blends the elements of man vs man in a believable way even the main character has traveled over 300 years into the past. It expands on the theory of altering events in history by traveling back in time and either changing events or that events occur despite the protagonists’ interventions.”

“Wow! You don't write anything half way. I seem to always put myself within the character I’m reading about. That scared the hell out of me this time. When I pause in my reading, I have to take time to sort myself out of fiction into the present. There better be an impossible ending to this story.”

"This is a unique take on time travel by incorporating historical fiction, heartfelt struggle, American grit, and thought-provoking questions that leaves the reader putting themselves in Matt Miller’s place-wondering what we would do in a similar circumstance. Rose went deep enough into the history of the time period to keep this story authentic without turning it into a full recitation of American history."

"As a US History major, I always am distracted by glaring inconsistencies in historical fiction. Rose did a great job keeping an authentic grounding while working in a great time travel story. Of course he had to take a few liberties but any scenario could be plausible when transporting back to the 1770’s. Thanks for a fun journey."

Matt Miller in the Colonies Book One Journeyman by Mark J. Rose

Journeyman

American scientist Matt Miller is torn from his own century and dropped into Colonial America with nothing except a backpack. His phone, his money and his identity are all useless and he quickly finds that he is foreign and alone in his own country. Matt must meet the challenge to survive in a newly forming society where he seemingly has no relevant skills and no one he can count on. He suspects that his twenty-first century knowledge of science and technology could make him a king in the New World, but he quickly finds that eighteenth century America is a dynamic place where nothing is guaranteed. The challenge to prosper, succeed and to win the hand of a beautiful Virginia farm girl is like nothing he has ever faced.

Prophet

American scientist, Matt Miller, has been torn from his own century and dumped into Colonial Virginia with only his backpack and his wits. He has come to terms with where he is and when, and has surrounded himself new friends, but has also made an enemy who has sworn his destruction. Matt now leaves Virginia to make his fortune in Philadelphia, with the hope of returning and claiming the hand of the woman he loves. It seems predestined that he has been dropped into this new century to succeed on a grand scale. He soon finds that a sworn enemy in Colonial America is no small thing.

Virginian

Twenty-firstcentury scientist Matt Miller has achieved success beyond his wildest dreams in the American colonies. He’s become a wealthy businessman and politician, with a beautiful wife and family, but the American Revolution looms on the horizon. When a prominent British leader mysteriously disappears, Ben Franklin summons Matt to London to help investigate the involvement of Patrick Ferguson, a man whose ambitions are to change the future. Unknown to them all, another time traveler, with separate motivations, will join in them in a struggle across two continents to change the destiny of Western Civilization.

Architect

Twenty-first-century scientist Matt Miller has become a wealthy businessman and politician with a beautiful wife and family. Despite his every effort, though, Matt’s world is crumbling around him. Grace has recovered from her physical injuries, but her mental scars deepen as the threat to her family remains and her brother’s trial looms on the horizon. The Millers find themselves at the center of a maelstrom that threatens to engulf the entire colony of Virginia and make it the epicenter for a revolution. As the events around Matt unfold and his situation becomes worse and worse, an opportunity presents itself to right the wrongs he has caused, but only if Matt can leave his life in the colonies behind.
